Investors in Excellence gained by WM Housing Group

West midlands-based WM Housing Group has been awarded the Investors in Excellence (IiE) Standard. The housing association is only the second organisation in the country and the first in the west midlands to meet the testing requirements of the recently revised Standard.

The Investors in Excellence Standard is a prestigious mark of excellence awarded to those organisations that demonstrate a high standard of all-round business performance.

The new Standard focuses more on how each business’s systems and outcomes contribute positively towards its core purpose.

Any candidate wishing to receive the accolade must map their performance against the IiE Standard to note what areas of the business work well and where improvements need to be made. An evaluation of the company’s performance is then made by an independent IiE assessor.

Ian Nield, chief executive of Investors in Excellence, said: “Obtaining the Investors in Excellence Standard is a fantastic achievement for any organisation. Those that are recognised have shown themselves to be truly committed to continuous improvement and excellent performance.”

Angus Groom, executive director at WM Housing Group, said: “We’re delighted to have been certificated as an Investor in Excellence. By embedding the principles of the Investors in Excellence framework the Group has been able to help our employees handle the challenge of change and publicly demonstrate its proactive attitude to improving our services for our customers.”

WM Housing Group is one of the largest housing associations in the west midlands area. Based in Bromsgrove, the organisation owns and manages approximately 23,500 homes across Birmingham, Coventry, Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
