The true spirit of Christmas shone out on Monday evening when the Community Involvement team at Family Optima in partnership with the Salvation Army and St Luke’s Church delivered the annual Community Christmas Carols.
With over 60 customers in attendance it was a merry evening encouraging positive community relationships and combating aspects of social isolation in the local community. The highlight included a visit to a local care home (Kerria Court Care Home) where the care home residents and staff were eagerly waiting to us. It was particularly amazing to see the smiles on their faces as they joined in to sing their favourite carols accompanied by the Salvation Army band and the Community.
Asha from the Community Involvement Team said that, “Our Community Christmas Carols singing is a hugely enjoyable tradition and it really brings Christmas alive in a memorable way and it supports our continued effort to create places that we are proud to live and work”.
