Fundraisers go Gung-Ho! and exceed charity target

A Birmingham housing team have been busy fundraising over the last two months and have raised a fantastic £3,670 for Cancer Research UK.

The fundraising drive at Family Optima Housing included a number of events from selling plants, books and cakes to a Caribbean lunch and tackling the 5K Gung Ho! challenge at Cofton Park on May 6, a large inflatable obstacle course with a giant ball pit, climbing wall, labyrinth, a vertical jump and a 200ft water slide.

Monique Cox, Income Officer at Family Optima, said: “The Gung Ho! Challenge was a highlight of all our fundraising events. The obstacle course was really tough but it was great fun and brought everyone together for such a worthwhile cause.”

“We set out with a target of £2,000 so we are extremely pleased that we have exceeded this. Everyone has been working hard together to raise the funds for Cancer Research UK and the support we have received has been tremendous.”
