Hip Hop night to support local homelessness charity

A charity Hip Hop night is set to take place in Hereford to support young homeless people.

Anticipated to be a jam-packed, vibrant event, the evening has been filled with local talent, featuring DJ Mista Bliss and special guest BDS Silva Shiva, and will provide a night of rap, hip hop and break dance for 16-25’s.

Hip Hop night has been organised by Hereford’s Supported Housing for Young People Project (SHYPP), which supports 16-25 year olds across Herefordshire with housing, training and employment opportunities.

Inspired by the success of their recent live performance “If you walked in my shoes,” which gave an emotional insight into the struggle of homelessness, SHYPP wanted to showcase their performers’ talents further and have organised the event with Livewire Hereford, a music development programme and Dirty Feet Dance CIC, a community interest company which provides urban arts such as break dance, parkour/ freerunning, tricking, rap, DJ, beatbox and graffiti.

SHYPP is part of WM Housing Group and provides a range of accommodation suitable for young people, including foyer accommodation, move on flats, shared houses and supported lodgings. Their aim is to provide young people the opportunity to develop independent living skills, identify their talents and help them lead happy and successful lives.

Ticket entry is £1 on the door from 7pm at The Speakeasy Bar, Hereford Left Bank, Bridge St, Hereford HR4 9DG. Please note the bar will be open and serving soft drinks all evening, no alcohol permitted.
