A Birmingham housing boss will be part of an intrepid team of staff taking on the world’s biggest inflatable obstacle course in aid of charity.
Martyn Hale, Managing Director of housing provider Family Optima, will join 19 colleagues to tackle the tough 5K Gung-Ho! challenge.
They aim to raise £2,000 for Cancer Research UK by completing the course at Cofton Park on May 6.
The five-kilometre course will comprise 10 inflatable obstacles including a giant ball pit, climbing wall, labyrinth, a vertical jump and a 200ft water slide.
Monique Cox, Income Officer at Family Optima, has organised the charity fundraising drive with her colleagues.
She said: “We’ve never done anything like this on such a large scale but it just sounded like a really fun thing to do. While raising money for such a worthwhile cause we can bring everyone together and build team spirit.
“I took part in the 5K Race for Life in 2012 and I’m in training to get myself fit again for this challenge, along with some of my colleagues.
“Those who don’t want to do the obstacle course are planning other ways to raise money such as baking cakes, a book sale, plant sale and raffle. It’s great that everyone is working together and being so supportive of what we are doing.”
Anyone wanting to support the team can sponsor them at http://www.justgiving.com/owner-email/pleasesponsor/Monique-Cox1 or text code FOGH59 and the donation amount to 70070.
