Today in Community Impact Week we are highlighting a project in Coventry called The Environment and Me (TEaM).
Whitefriars is a partner on the programme which was launched in May. It is an ecotherapy-based project in partnership with Warwickshire Wildlife Trust and Coventry and Warwickshire Mind.
With Big Lottery funding, the TEaM programme provides positive, engaging outdoor experiences for people struggling with poor mental health. It is an opportunity to help enhance mental health and wellbeing through outdoor activities such as planting, growing food and flowers, learning about nature and wildlife, seasonal crafts and woodwork, socialising and walking.
TEaM is a service for individuals over the age of 18 and is currently provided in Spon End and Henley Green but we are hoping to expand to other areas across the city. Volunteering opportunities are also available.
As a partner we will encourage customers to take part in the programme who could benefit from the service. Customers can also self refer if they wish.
Visit Warwickshire Wildlife Trust’s website for more information on TEaM and contact details.
