A video has been released showing Citizen’s first modular homes being transported from a factory and craned on to site more than 30 miles away.
The first two modular homes were built in the Totally Modular factory at Cradley Heath and transported to Littlethorpe, Willenhall, in Coventry, on the back of a truck.
The homes, which have been built in partnership with Totally Modular and Coventry City Council, could be the first of many across the West Midlands.
The properties had kitchens and bathrooms already installed before being taken to site and they will boast benefits including reduced fuel bills and high energy efficiency.
Executive Director of Development at WM Housing Group, which is soon to become Citizen, Nick Byrne, says: “It’s been fantastic to follow this journey over the last few months and the video is a great way of showing how the homes were transported to the site.
“This type of development is a first for us and we feel this is the future of housing.
“We’re looking forward to seeing how we can use modular homes in the future.”
