Over the summer we are completing 5,000 home surveys across WM Housing Group to ensure our properties remain safe and desirable to live in.
If your home is selected for a survey you will receive a letter advising you of this. The letter will also outline the purpose and format of the survey itself. On the day of the survey, the surveyor (from West Mercia Homes or our consultants, Savills) will be required to show proof of their identity before entering your home.
Due to the high volume of home surveys we have to complete within a short timescale, it will not be possible to allocate a time or date of the survey. If you are not home when the surveyor calls we will simply select an alternative property and pick up your property at a later date.
Each survey will take less than 1 hour to complete and will include an inspection of both the internal and external fabric of your home, together with the internal fixtures such as the kitchen and bathroom.
We greatly appreciate your co-operation in allowing completion of these home surveys, allowing us to maintain the standard of housing we strive to achieve.
It is our intention to complete surveys to the majority of our homes over the next 3 years so that we remain alert to future maintenance needs and build our maintenance programme to address any areas identified through the home surveys. Completion of the home survey will not result in any immediate work to your property, it will simply help to inform us and enable us to plan ahead over the long term.
Please be aware that the surveyor completing the home survey will not be able to raise any repairs to your property and you should therefore continue to contact us to report a repair or log onto My Account
