We would like to appeal to local carpenters and builders to help us fit new decking at a mini garden make over for our Supported Housing for Young People Project, SHYPP.
SHYPP provides accommodation for 16-25 year olds across Herefordshire who have been homeless or are at risk of homelessness and are supported with housing, training and employment.
The garden make over is located at accommodation at Copse Cross Street in the heart of Ross-On-Wye and young residents are working hard to remove moss and weeds, tidy overgrown flower beds and clear a cobbled stone floor to reveal the words ‘December House’, an engraving which is currently hidden under the foliage.
SHYPP have sourced funding for the materials which will transform the garden into an area where they can grow their own vegetables, have flowers and provide quiet space for support sessions and meetings. It will also be a pleasant outdoor space for tea parties and barbeques. New decking has been purchased and we are now looking for assistance and expertise to make our garden transformation a reality.
Once completed all volunteers and local partners will be invited to our opening tea party to celebrate and enjoy the new garden. If you would like to join us and can volunteer your time and expertise, please contact Alec Hoskins or Kirsty Cotterrell at SHYPP on 01989 568924.
In the last 4 years SHYPP has helped over 1200 young people across Herefordshire through supported accommodation and outreach support. By supporting SHYPP you could help the young people of Ross to achieve and thrive.
